Hechizo Jewlery

I had the opportunity to get my hands on some stunning Hechizo Jewlrey for a ‘stay-at-home’ product photography session. *Which, if you’re here in Columbia, MO can purchase at Poppy Made by Hand. I know they are currently taking virtual orders, shipping products and curbside pick-up!

It was a quick project turn around, and not being able to plan in advance for backdrops and additional props I did my best to use what I had around the house.

The current Hechizo photography felt ‘moody’ and ‘raw’ so I wanted to utilize natural light with some deep shadows from the sun. With that direction in mind, I set up shop in my dining room next to our sliding glass door to capture the afternoon sun glaring in through the windows.

I experimented with the black tile samples I had on hand and tried to pull pieces of clothing or household items that had similar colors to the jewelry.

The owner of Hechizo has. deep interest in the materials and process of making each piece. It is obvious as each piece feels like it’s own unique story.

What’s your favorite piece?
